Cairo/Giza, Egypt; Day 4

Brian and Tiffany celebrated the 14th anniversary of their wedding today. We decided to visit the Mena House which sits on the other side of the Great Pyramids from our Sphinx-side B&B.

The Mena House was an old hunting lodge built in the 19th century and has been the Giza accommodations for royalty, heads-of-state, and celebrities for many years. These days it also happens to be a Marriott hotels property so we took advantage of our elevated status with that chain to ‘check in’ for the day.

The parents enjoyed a bottle of wine while the children splashed around the oldest pool in Egypt. This large beautiful pool was a wonderful back-drop for a pleasant and relaxing afternoon.
