Our 5 Adventurers sat around the breakfast table reviewing our wish list for the city of Stockholm. Our flight back to Denmark departed late in the day so we had an opportunity to revisit favorites or explore places that were left on the list.
We have taken a few ferries in Stockholm and the kids have been taken by more of a cool, twisty, slide-like contraption on one of the 14 Stockholm islands we haven’t visited yet.

Dad was delighted to learn that this slide (it really was a slide and not just some industrial tubing) was an art installation attached to the Moderna Museet. Once again, something for everyone! Mom and Dad get to see some cool modern art and tke kids get to run wild on the outdoor installations. (This one is allowed for play).

This museum is the largest modern art museum that we had ever seen. There were many exhibition halls and buildings. There was an exhibition running this summer of 29 international artists who were commissioned to create a painting on the themes of allegory.

This was Dad’s favorite painting but he’s not entirely sure what the allegorical reference is. Perhaps you can tell us.
The kids were drawn to the exhibit called Worldglimpsing: Role-playing and the Design of Alternative Realities. They enjoyed playing games and watching videos to explore “realities within realities”. Once again, feel free to tell us what this all means.

In the end, the kids rode these slides several times but ultimately were disappointed. Apparently, they had to wait for an elevator at the bottom to take them to a floor which was two staircases below the launch point. And they had to ride on wool pads. Their review, “too much time from bottom to top and too much time from top to bottom.” Go figure.
We had just enough time left in the afternoon to show Dad the cool bookstore that they spent time in on Wednesday.

Soon thereafter it was time to take the subway to the train station to the airport and to say goodbye to Stockholm and Sweden.

We arrived back in Denmark in time to settle in, grab a quick dinner, have a surprisingly long game of ‘look up random words in the dictionary left at the Airbnb’ and bed. More Adventures tomorrow.
