This is our third set of Adventures in Amsterdam and we are developing a pattern. We repeat previous experiences we’ve enjoyed and add new ones as well.
This morning started waking up in a hotel in our new neighborhood – near the Museum Quarter. You can gather from the name it’s close to Amsterdam’s most famous museums but also a place of wide streets and old residential buildings.

Nearby we had our morning meal at ‘The Breakfast Club’, a very good chain just down the street. Breakfast in Denmark, Norway and Sweden were heavily tilted toward pastries, so it was nice to get a selection of omelets or avocado toast. Of course the kids chose American style pancakes. Well, I’m not sure we’ve ever seen the giant marshmallow on an American breakfast, but it fits the stereotype.

From there, we had another new experience – the Amsterdam tram – part of the stellar public transpiration options. In prior visits we have rented bikes so this was our first tram ride.

It’s more windy and chaotic than we expected so that was a total surprise. Other than that – nothing unusual. We had the normal tourist problems with getting our credit card to work on the reader so we had to buy tickets on the tram.
We took the tram to Central Station and then walked 15 minutes to our kids choice activity of the day – NEMO Science Museum.

Ever since we decided to come back to Amsterdam the kids have been asking if we could go back to the Nemo – so we did.
While many of the exhibits are similar to two years ago, some have changed and honestly, the kids have changed so their interests and where they want to spend time was different.
We spend time building circuits- CreeperKitty did some tough challenges but had fun doing it.

We played with gravity

And Suaram challenged herself to fill in a whole segment of the 10 ft mosaic wheel which slowly turned out of reach making it a “beat-the-clock” exercise

We had an another great visit at Nemo, quite possibly not for the last time.
We reversed our trip on the tram, freshened up and then traveled 30 minutes out of Amsterdam to spend a lovely evening with family. A great day in one of our favorite European cities.
