Lemont, Illinois; Day 2

Sunday at Lori’s house gave the Adventurers plenty of opportunities to play board games and to relax.  The day began for the kids in pajamas/nightgowns playing the Game of Life and ended with Monopoly.

Morning: Game of Life
Later: Qbitz

Between these games were Candyland, Connect4, Battleship, Qbitz and Operation.  The kids were in heaven.

Despite the time spent on these games, we all found ourselves craving some outdoor time given the clear blue sky. Lemont has a converted quarry called the Forge which has been converted into a park with a zip line, amphitheater and a large children’s play area.

Afterwards, we headed out for a sweet treat at a favorite shop in Naperville called Cookie Dough Creations. Their speciality is ice cream with edible cookie dough on top! Dad enjoyed a flavor named in fond memory of the roads of his youth.

Once again our 5 Adventurers had a wonderful but brief time with an old friend who welcomed us in to their home and wish us a good journey onward.
