Driving Day. We are now driving toward our next family/friend destination in Portland, Oregon.
Did You Know: There are 58 counties in California. Our 5 Adventurers spent time in many of them on this leg of the journey. How many California counties can you name?

We examined our route through California and learned that we had passed through 20 of these 58 in the past 7 days.
For you map nerds, the counties were:
Orange, Los Angeles, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, Merced, Mariposa, Tuolomne, Calaveras, Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Yuba, Butte, Tehama, Shasta, and Siskiyou counties.
Tomorrow is Crater Lake National Park day. We are very excited! None of us have ever had that adventure before.
David and I have been to crater lake. One of the most beautiful sites we’ve seen! Enjoy!

It will be scorching in Oregon today so we are hoping some elevation will make outdoor activities bearable.

Hartley and I visited Crater Lake in mid-October several years ago. It was the last week the park was open that year. It was snowing and windy. We spent much more time than was necessary in the rest rooms because the sinks had hot water and the rooms were heated. The snow was beautiful. At least an inch fell while we were walking to our car.
A beautiful sight any time of the year.
Your photos and comments of each day’s adventures are a treat for us. Keep having fun. We’re delighted to be tagging along.
