Union Pier, Michigan; Day 4

Today the Adventurers gave themselves a challenge – the ‘PentAquaPalooza’. This was a challenge to get in five different sources of water today. The last one was the easiest – a shower – so it was the first four that we set off in search of under sunny summer skies. Our first stop is anContinue reading “Union Pier, Michigan; Day 4”

Paris, France; Day 5

We had an All-American day which was only disrupted by a kind French woman seeking directions. The kids have consistently said that they miss breakfast the most. They missed the concept of eggs and toast while we were in Asia and Africa. They missed morning pork badly when we were in the UAE, Egypt andContinue reading “Paris, France; Day 5”

Rome, Italy; Day 3

Today’s Italian adventures started with French Toast in our apartment. From there we did a famous sites 5K. Our first stop was the Colosseum and then to the Roman Forum. The students seemed engaged by the material and provided their own perspectives on 4 Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.Continue reading “Chiang Mai, Thailand; Day 8”

Boquete, Panama; Day 21

Another school day today – math, language arts and another portion of the Panama Unit. Brian continues to invest quite a bit of time in preparing his lesson including today’s 6 PowerPoint slides. Suaram’s take away was that Dad was MUCH better at slides than she’d ever realized and had some cool techniques she didn’tContinue reading “Boquete, Panama; Day 21”

Boquete, Panama; Day 11

Despite it being a Saturday we made it a school day so there were no big adventures today. We did finally take a few pictures of our AirBnB house and our ‘yard mates’ for lack of a better description. The house itself is one story, three bedroom/two bath and about 1,800 square feet. It hasContinue reading “Boquete, Panama; Day 11”

West Yellowstone, Montana

Today, we have embarked on the Yellowstone leg of the journey.  We are going to spend four nights in and around this majestic area. Our first order of business was to swap Ole Wheezy with some wheels that could take us up and down the mountains in Northwest Wyoming. The kids were somewhat chagrined toContinue reading “West Yellowstone, Montana”
